CORRESPONDENCE COURSES - Available in either PDF or CD-ROM format
Note: To qualify for credit a course must be directly related to the professional growth and development of the professional engineer. The following courses are designed to provide technical, managerial, or ethical/legal instruction to enhance the professional engineer's practice. The responsibility is placed on the registrant to determine which courses meet continuing education requirements in states that do not pre-approve courses or sponsors of continuing education courses. The Kentucky Board of Licensure does not pre-approve engineering continuing professional development courses.

INTRODUCTION TO LOW IMPACT DEVELOPMENT (LID) - 3 PDH - The course provides the professional a basic understanding of the concepts of Low Impact Development, gives a summary of the Clean Water Act and covers best management practices applicable to LID. In addition, it describes typical local, state and federal permitting requirements, costs, funding opportunities and case studies of completed LID projects. Course cost is $60.00.
SECRETS OF PRODUCTIVE MEETINGS - 3 PDH - The course provides a framework, for those who conduct or participate in meetings, to follow to make meetings the most productive. "Secrets" are provided to assist the meeting leader in getting the most from project briefings, advisory meetings or a negotiation. Course cost is $60.00.
STREAMBANK RESTORATION - 3 PDH - The course provides several methods to restore those streambanks that have been changed/degraded by development, erosion, and channelization to a more natural condition. Course cost is $60.00.
PREPARING FOR AN IRS AUDIT - 2 PDH - The course provides a review of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) audit process. It details the individual taxpayer's and the business taxpayer's responsibilities and rights with respect to a tax return audit and interview. Course cost is $40.00.
ENGINEERING'S IMPACT ON THE WORLD - 3 PDH - This course provides a brief history of the engineering profession from its beginnings to current time. It offers highlights across the centuries of people, processes and technologies and their impact on our world. Course cost is $60.00.
OIL AND GAS WELL PERMITTING (IN KENTUCKY) - 2 PDH - This course reviews the various statutes and regulations of the application permit for oil and gas wells in the state and the engineer's role in the process. Course cost is $40.00.
MARKETING - 2 PDH - This course covers basic components of marketing professional services and provides tips and ideas to help in reaching prospective clients. Course cost is $40.00.
SURVIVING THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS - 4 PDH - Course follows a project from the initial zone change to submittal of construction plans by reviewing state statutes and common procedures involved with the development process. Course cost is $80.00.
CONTRACTS - 3 PDH. Course reviews guidelines to assist the engineer in better understanding, drafting and executing contracts. Course cost is $60.00.
TRAIL DESIGN - 3 PDH. Course covers design considerations for mixed use trails. Course cost is $60.00.
TAX TIPS - 3 PDH. Course reviews income tax issues, recent tax law changes, and detailed information on business expenses. Course cost is $60.00.
SAFE TRAFFIC CONTROL PRACTICES - 3 PDH. Course reviews traffic control methods in work zones. Course cost is $60.00.
SMALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT - 3 PDH. Course provides an overview of tax laws and how they apply to small business. Course cost is $60.00.
THE INTERNET AS A RESOURCE - 3 PDH. Course reviews how the internet can assist the engineer in accessing web sites beneficial to the conduct of business. Course cost is $60.00.
MISSOURI CODE OF CONDUCT (ETHICS) - 2 PDU - Course covers the code of conduct for professional engineers in the State of Missouri. Course cost is $40.00.
OFFICE MANAGEMENT - 3 PDH. Course discusses the importance of strategic planning, getting employee feedback, developing the professional capabilities of employees and building project teams that get results. Course cost is $60.00.
DRAINAGE STUDIES AND ELEVATION CERTIFICATES - 2 PDH. Course reviews flood plains, drainage studies and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) elevation certificates. Course cost is $40.00.
GPS AND GIS BASICS - 2 PDH. Course reviews basic GIS procedures and methods for obtaining and submitting digital information. Course cost is $40.00.
AN ENGINEER'S ROLE IN SITE DEVELOPMENT - 2 PDH. Course presents an overview of responsibilities an engineer may have during a site development. Course cost is $40.00.
STARTING AN ENGINEERING COMPANY - 3 PDH. Course describes issues involved in starting a business. Course cost is $60.00.
EROSION CONTROL FOR CONSTRUCTION SITES - 2 PDH. Course reviews basic methods pertaining to effective erosion control. Course cost is $40.00.
MISSISSIPPI CODE OF CONDUCT (ETHICS) - 2 PDH. Course reviews the Mississippi code of conduct. Course cost is $40.00.

To order - complete registration form and mail with corresponding check for either PDF or CD-ROM course format. Each course consists of a PowerPoint presentation, a set of handouts and a 20-question exam covering the course content. Successful completion of the course exam is a 75% passing score. A certificate will be issued to verify earned professional development hours of credit per course completed. Please note that certificates can only be issued to those who pay for the PDF or CD-ROM course(s).
Once the registration form and check are received for the course(s) the PDF files will be sent by email within 24 hours of receiving the course order and payment. The CD-ROM, handout(s) and exam will be sent by first class mail to you within 2 business days of receiving the course order with payment. The certificate(s) are usually mailed within 2 working days once the completed exam(s) is(are) returned by email, fax or through the U.S. Postal Service.
